WHO IS DUNBAR ROVERS FC – NPL?
After many years of success in the ESFA competition, Football NSW granted the club entry to State League for the 2015 season.
“Dunbar Rovers FC NPL” was established in January 2015 as a separate entity to Dunbar Rovers ESFA. The new Board experimented with a new disruptive model of fee free elite football for several seasons, drawing on the commercial experience of new board members and co-founder and ex-president: Quintin Freeman.
As a result, the club fielded two Men’s teams (First Grade and Under 20s) in the NSW State League 2 competition and the First Grade outfit began to play in the Westfield FFA Cup for the first time.
The story does not end here, at the end of their first year in the State League their First Grade went on to win their league convincingly and with their U20’s placing second spot it meant they were crowned Championship Winners and promoted to the newly formed Play Station 4 – NPL League 3.
Dunbar Rovers FC NPL continues to go from strength to strength now competing with 7 teams in the League and NPL competitions: U13, U14, U15, U16, U18, U20 and First Grade governed by the Board: Charles Abdilla (President); Karen Grega (Treasurer); Matt Lawton (Secretary); Matt Delves (Commercial Director); Pete Hennessy (Director).
The club is known for developing youth talent and promoting young players to first grade.
